A brief theoretical introduction allows you to enter the fascinating world of the decoration of ancient codes by retracing the procedures and roles of the various copyists, as well as an in-depth analysis of pigments, binders and their preparation. The manual activity involves the reproduction and decoration of a Drop Cap taken from original drawings on a sheet of parchment paper.
An appointment with the ancient art of illuminated manuscripts, with vegetable and mineral pigments, thin brushes and gold leaf. It will be a day dedicated to the decoration of a drop cap taken from medieval manuscripts in which everyone will have fun choosing decorations and colours, learning to work with care and precision.
After a brief theoretical introduction, everyone will choose a subject to reproduce on paper, decorate the most precious details with gold leaf and then learn to use the precious natural pigments.
The cost of participation is € 50 including all materials.
